Welcome To EPPIC’s New blog

Greetings,

My name is Chris Erickson.  I am currently serving as EPPIC Ministries International, Inc.’s director.  EPPIC began in 1982 and was incorporated as a non-profit organization in 1985. For thirty-four years EPPIC has focused on using a very visible, non-verbal, highly entertaining performing art to capture the imaginations, minds and hearts of thousands upon thousands of individuals all over the world!  This start-up blog represents a new beginning for EPPIC, as we plan to apply our experiences, expertise and programs through one specific performing art, to positively affect individuals and communities in which we endeavor to serve.  I am excited about EPPIC’s future because I have witnessed and been a part of its very humble and successful past.  I invite you to begin a journey with me from this point on to witness what I have witnessed again and again all these years…changed lives.

To begin I plan to blog twice a month to report on what is happening in and through EPPIC.  If you are a past member of a team, I hope you enjoy the fact that what you participated in years ago is still alive and well.  How about financially supporting it today?  If you are a current donor, I hope this informs you of how your donation is being put to use towards changing lives.  Spread the word and encourage others in your sphere of influence to donate as well.  Anyone can do that through GiveMN.org to “EPPIC Ministries” as their cause.  If you are interested in the performing arts, I hope what goes on in and through EPPIC intrigues you enough to want to be involved.  Feel free to contact me, I would welcome your interest.

I recently saw the movie “Hacksaw Ridge” and was struck by the resolve of one man, who stuck by his personal convictions and went into battle without a weapon as a combat medic to save 75 of his wounded comrades.  When his company quit the fight, he continued.  In the face of mortal harm, he continued.  Recognized as the only recipient of the Medal of Honor who never carried a weapon, his humility and amazing personal sacrifice won out as a shining light of character in an age when character is what the world needs…then, now and in the future.  It is through EPPIC’s performing art that I desire to convict, convince and encourage individuals to make decisions that will positively change, influence and develop their personal character.  It is our character that serves us negatively or positively throughout our life, making what influences our character so very important.
